Ugh...stupid youtube and crap.Ok,this is gonna be a very...blunt review, just so you know. This is mostly because of the UK screwing us over and spamming the finale into our faces! Also,I tried looking for footage of the episode, but I only found footage of part 2-most of which reactions, which automatically put me off.The only link with part 1 is on dailymotion, which doesn't have the best speed. So I thought,"crap it",and decided to just go off of other reviews of the episode to get this over with.I also watched Dr.Wolf's review about a week before,so I at least know a little bit of it-but that's not the other reason why I'm making this so straightforward, and I'll get to that soon. For now, let's just get started.

So in Part 1,Starlight is invited back to her village for a festival. This is actually pretty cool, seeing as since the season five finale that place got brushed to the side.Though,Starlight's afraid even though she apologized in the aforementioned finale. It's understandable-I mean, she pretty much enslaved an entire town of ponies, assaulted the six most important ponies in Equestria, and even came close to tearing the whole shebang apart through timey-wimey!Yeah,a lot.

Luckily,Luna and the Mane Six help her out-which I can't help but like. It's always these small moments between characters that I smile at a lot,as it gives you an idea of the dynamic between them and how they see each other. That's in part as to why I sometimes make shorts with my characters.Anyway, she actually brings Trixie along for support as well. However, this isn't enough to keep things from getting bad,but it's different this time around.

It seems the villagers want her to be their leader again, and Starlight understandably chickens out.I know it seems kind of cliche, but it's understandable that she doesn't want that. The fear of making mistakes, the fear of causing trouble because of a minor goof up.That's the problem every leader faces, and it takes both heart and courage to be a good one-not that I think either of the candidates for this election seem to have that at all!

Getting back on topic,Starlight and Trixie leave the village and see that the Mane Six and Spike are acting weird. In a dream sequence,Luna warns Starlight that Chrysalis and the changelings are back-and are after every figure of royalty and threat to them.Ok,this really hypes me up because this time around the plan is more strategised and focused, not that the last one wasn't.Last time,Chrissy only hypnotized Shining Armor and believed nopony would know that she wasn't Cadence-not knowing that Twilight was already suspicious.

It's then revealed that Luna's warning is true,as the Mane Six and Spike are revealed to be changelings in disguise. So Starlight recruits Trixie,Discord,and...Thorax,surprisingly,to go to the changeling hive and save Equestria! For the...fourth time?I think it was four.

Anyway, this is where my enjoyment reaches it's maximum! In fanfictions, some people assume that the changelings' lair is hive-like,since they seem like insects. Here though,we actually get that confirmed-at least form the clips. In terms of the group,I'm okay with it,but I was really hoping for Sunburst to come along and get some sweet StarBurst!Yes,I ship it.I can't help but ship it.Also,Thorax is evolving-which I'll get to.

When they get to the hive,it seems that their magic won't work-aside from Thorax.Looks like Dissy won't have his Super-OP chaos magic. It's at least good that they disabled Discord because with his powers, you'd think he'd be able to waltz on in and just rescue everyone from the get-go.It may not always seem that way,but in most cases it does.So after some wandering, they encounter Chrysalis and-OMG WTF WHAT THE WHATITY WHAT?!

Ok,I know Chrysalis can be creepy, but turning her head all the way around?!This makes me wonder what else the writers held back from us.Also, seeing the changelings spam Fluttershy on Discord is outright disturbing.I mean,we already know he cares about her,but this? It's like they're forcing him into a yandere meltdown.Blah, blah, blah, stuff happens and Chrissy captures Thorax and starts to extract the love from him.It actually looks pretty painful...

And now we get to where-in my opinion,Hasbro puts toy pandering levels to maximum. So after Thorax unleashes all the love he has,his evolution is complete and he turns into...whatever that is.You hear that? The sound that's like shattering glass? That's my suspension of disbelief-it's crumbling.I can take Rainbow Power,I can take Equestria Girls hybrids-even Sunset's ascension(which I thought was pretty cool),but this...this is where the line is drawn. This moment pretty much brought this finale into infamy-as in "kill it with fire" levels! So the other changelings do this too-without any siding with Chrissy, and Starlight tries to reform her.

PSYCH-YEET!Thank...*screech*-ing...CELESTIA.I'm with most people when I say it gets annoying when a character is reformed. It happened with Dissy, then Starlight, then Diamond Tiara, and now it came close with Chrysalis.Thank goodness they didn't do it.Everything goes all hunky-dory.The end!

If you couldn't tell already,I'm rushed this out as fast as possible.I was so hyped for it,but a combination of the UK's crappery and my mom dragging me out the house destroyed my goals of watching the episode for myself. Not to mention most of the links for part 1 being gone.Another point is that I'm trying to get my Halloween review ready before it's too late and school isn't helping with that.I also have an idea for a christmas short, but that's for later.

Anyway,I loved this finale! The setup is incredible, the conflict with Starlight is relatable, and overall I'd say this is one of the best season finales-behind Twilight's Kingdom and Return of Harmony.

Was it great? Eh...yeah,I guess.
Was it terrible? No,but it had it's weak points.
Was it worth watching? Most certainly.

Are we getting a season seven? You bet your sweet flanks!

Return of Harmony was a season opener, not finale.
